Sports betting was active in the Bayou State last month. The four racinos – Delta Downs, Louisiana Downs, Evangeline Downs and Fair Grounds – increased their winnings by 1.5% to $23.8 million. In Baton Rouge, Belle and L’Auberge, as well as the newly opened Queen, a rural property, gained $20.6 million. Harrah’s New Orleans, one of two brick-and-mortar casinos in the state, won about $20.8 million, but that marked an 11% decline compared to November 2022, when the Caesars Entertainment property won $23.3 million. On New Orleans’ three riverboats – Amelia Belle, Boomtown and Treasure Chest – gaming winnings rose nearly 8% to $18.7 million. The five Shreveport/Bossier City casinos – Boomtown, Bally’s, Horseshoe, Sam’s Town and Margaritaville – won $44.5 million. The Houston-focused market saw gaming revenue increase by over 8%. The Lake Charles market, with three casinos including Golden Nugget, L’Auberge and Horseshoe, led the way with GGR of nearly $56.7 million.
